Bus Éireann Athlone is Ireland’s first all-electric, zero-emission bus depot, developed to support the transition to a more sustainable public transport network.
Located in Athlone, the facility provides the infrastructure required to support the operation and charging of a new electric bus fleet.
CJK acted as PSCS and main contractor, delivering the civil, structural and electrical works required to bring the depot into operation.
Scope of Work
- Design, build, and installation of Ireland’s first all-electric zero-emission bus depot
- Installation of 18 EV bus charging
- New MV substation including 1.1MVA transformer
- New LV switch room and associated electrical infrastructure
- Construction of a new car park
- Installation of public road ducting network in coordination with ESB
- Grid connection and power infrastructure works
